SH₂OUT are proud to announce that they are working with the Great Scottish Swim, taking place on Saturday 26th August to help promote safety in open water swimming events.
Recent years have seen a large growth in the provision of open water swimming events, offered by the commercial sector, venues and triathlon clubs. However, there is currently no single body offering support to open water swimming event organisers.
SH₂OUT, the RLSS UK and British Triathlon partnership, is developing a process for open water swimming event organisers to work through to ensure the events are delivered to approved SH₂OUT standards resulting in an amazing swimming experience for participants.
Alex Jackson, Director of the Great Swim series: “The team at Great Scottish Swim are delighted to be working alongside our friends at SH₂OUT to help promote and progress the importance of water safety in the sport of open water swimming.”
RLSS UK Technical Director, Adrian Lole said: “It is fantastic to work with the Great Scottish Swim as it is a great event that we have been involved with for several years now.”
The Great Scottish Swim is set in the stunning surroundings of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. With multiple distances to choose from, including ½ mile, 1 mile, 2 mile, 5k and 10k options, there’s something for everyone regardless of ability.
So this summer, why not plan a day away with friends and family, pick a distance to suit you and experience that finish line feeling? As soon as you finish you’ll be rewarded with a shiny new medal, an exclusive event t-shirt and a goodie-filled finisher’s pack.
You’ll have to be quick though… Entries are closing soon! Sign up today
